This is a 6 month FTC role for a leading organisation in the entertainment space. The team are looking for support through their busier year end period whilst they look to recruit and onboard a permanent replacement for a recent resignation within the team. The focus of the role will be on assisting the team with their Corporate Tax compliance requirements - this will include the preparation and filing of corporation tax returns, US quarterly reporting and year end reporting requirements. Key responsibilities will include:
- Preparation of CT600 and supporting calculations for submission to HMRC of c.20 Group companies
- Preparation and review of statutory accounts provision including tax consolidations for groups with multiple companies including JV's and non-UK entities
- Review of tax computations and accounts provision for several Group companies where tax is outsourced (including Irish and German subsidiaries)
- Quarterly Group tax reporting to US head office including UK to US GAAP adjustments
- Calculation of UK QIPs and balancing payments (reminders for German tax payments and calculation of Irish payments)
- Liaison with external auditors and HMRC on various tax queries and enquiries
- Monthly review of tax information and communication with management accountants
- Monthly review of tax accounts and completion of SOX checklist
- Ensure compliance with Senior Accounting Officer obligations
- Monitoring of Interest and Debt restrictions on a quarterly basis and detailed calculation for submission to HMRC
- Preparation of annual budget tax figures for current and deferred tax including estimated taxpayments for budget cash flow
The ideal candidate will be an experienced UK corporation tax specialist, available to start on a contract basis between now and early-mid October. They would ideally be qualified CTA and/or ACA (or equivalent) with prior experience of working in-house and managing statutiory corporate tax compliance and reporting requirements. They will need to have experience of working through year end cycles. Moreover, experience of using Alphatax software would be advantageous. You will need to demonstrate a willingness to undertake hands-on corporate tax compliance work and the ability to organise and prioritise workloads to work to short lead times and meet strict deadlines.
