Corporate Tax Senior - Accountancy Expertise Ltd : Job Details

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Corporate Tax Senior to join a dynamic, forward thinking firm of Chartered Accountants in London, near the Thames.

Working within the corporation tax team, the role will involve you being responsible for a portfolio of corporate tax clients from owner managed businesses and partnerships to large companies and groups and dealing with compliance matters.

Key Duties include:

• Reporting to, and working closely with the tax managers and partners on various tax compliance and advisory matters
• Managing a portfolio of corporate tax clients
• Preparation of tax returns for companies, partnerships, non-resident landlords
• Liaising with the audit team to ensure that any tax sensitive issues arising in the accounts are correctly treated
• Submitting returns to HMRC in a timely manner and by the due date
• Advising clients on how to pay their tax liabilities, including any interest or penalties due and appealing against HMRC penalty notices where appropriate
• Liaising with HMRC on behalf of clients to ensure compliance matters are dealt with effectively§Liaising with clients, including attending client meetings
• Drafting bills for clients. Budget and WIP management
• Assisting with ad hoc tax matters and complying with all departmental procedures to ensure the smooth running of the team and the department

You will ideally hold a professional qualification such as ATT and/or CTA with a strong corporate tax background, preferably within practice, although study support will be offered if required. You will also have experience of managing your own portfolio of corporate tax clients.

A good working knowledge of systems such as Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and the CCH would also be an advantage.
