Court of Protection Legal Director - Simpson Judge Ltd : Job Details

The Job Title: Court of Protection DirectorSalary up to £75,000 DOELegal Top TierLocation: Manchester My client is leading legal top tier firm who are looking for a Senior Court of Protection to oversee a team of experienced COP legal professionals in central Manchester. The Court of Protection role will include:

• Manage a caseload of Property and Affairs Deputyship files, supported by our Case Workers, who manage the day to day financial work, and trainee solicitors/paralegals;
• Supervise the work of junior fee earners
• Conduct of complex Property and Affairs applications;
• Providing advice to lay deputies and attorneys
• Ample opportunity for development and promotion.

The successful candidate will have experience of a significant proportion of the following:

• Professional deputyship work, including, if possible, high value and complex matters
• Property and Affairs applications to the Court of Protection
• Contested Court of Protection matters, preparing instructions to counsel, Court bundles etc.
• Advice to families regarding LPAs and Lay deputyship applications
• Investigation of financial abuse
• Knowledge of welfare issues affecting Protected Parties
• Knowledge of different care funding options including local authority and NHS funding
