Capio Recruitment is working with a highly regarded Top 200 law firm to recruit a dedicated Court of Protection Paralegal for their Lincoln office. The Role:
As a Court of Protection Paralegal, you will support solicitors and fee earners in handling a wide variety of matters related to the protection and management of vulnerable clients' property and financial affairs. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a growing and specialised area of law, with the potential to develop your career further.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting with a caseload of Court of Protection matters, including deputyship applications, statutory wills, and matters involving mental capacity.
- Liaising with clients, their families, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders, ensuring high levels of client care and service.
- Drafting legal documents and preparing applications to the Court of Protection.
- Conducting legal research and assisting with the preparation of legal advice.
- Maintaining accurate case files, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Providing administrative support to the team, including managing correspondence, arranging meetings, and handling billing matters.
The Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate will have prior experience working within a law firm, ideally in Court of Protection, Private Client, or a related area. You will have a genuine interest in helping vulnerable clients and a commitment to delivering excellent client care.
You will need:
- A degree in law (LLB or equivalent), a legal qualification such as the LPC, or significant experience in a similar role.
- Previous experience working as a paralegal in Court of Protection, private client, or mental health law.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- A compassionate, client-focused approach with a passion for supporting vulnerable individuals.
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
