Job Role
As a Creative SEND Teacher, you will:
- Teach a small group of children with Autism, using innovative and creative methods tailored to their unique needs.
- Plan, deliver, and assess lessons that align with each child's Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP).
- Foster an engaging and supportive classroom environment that promotes each student's social and academic development.
- Integrate creative elements like Music, Drama, and the Arts to enhance student learning and engagement.
- Develop and implement strategies to support students' wellbeing, independence, and social skills.
- Collaborate with teaching assistants, support staff, and the leadership team to ensure high-quality, cohesive support.
- Liaise with parents, carers, and external professionals to ensure consistent, transparent communication about student progress and needs.
Candidate Requirements
We are seeking a candidate who has:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience teaching children with SEND, particularly Autism.
- Deep understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse needs.
- A positive, reflective teaching approach that can inspire and motivate students.
- Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to create an inclusive, supportive learning environment.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with parents, staff, and external professionals.
- A creative, enthusiastic mindset and a passion for supporting the personal and academic growth of children with SEND.
