Reed Accountancy & Finance is currently seeking an experienced Credit Controller for a temporary position based in Dover, Kent. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in credit control who is looking for their next challenge in a dynamic office environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing and collecting debts from company debtors
- Evaluating new credit requests and reviewing customers’ credit rankings with banks
- Setting up the terms and conditions of the receivable and payable balances
- Dealing with internal queries about payments, ensuring customers pay on time
- Negotiating repayment plans
- Resolving queries both internally and externally around outstanding invoices
- Posting and allocating daily receipts to accounting systems
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Credit Controller
- Solid understanding of accounting principles, fair credit practices and collection regulations
- Proficient in MS Office and data entry; experience with accounting software preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to establish and maintain good client relationships, both internally and externally at all levels
- Competence in negotiation and dealing with difficult situations
- Good time management skills and the ability to prioritise a demanding workload
