Workwell Outsourcing is a leading provider of outsourced services, specialising in financial operations and credit management for businesses across the UK. We work with a diverse range of clients, helping them optimise their financial processes and achieve long-term success. We are currently looking for a dedicated and experienced Credit Controller to join our growing team.

What does the role entail?

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual looking for a fully remote position with the flexibility to work from home after an initial training period. Some travel to Leeds will be required once a month for team meetings and training, with all travel expenses covered

About the Role:

As a Credit Controller at Workwell Outsourcing, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining an effective credit control process, ensuring outstanding debts are collected in a timely and professional manner. You will be an integral part of the finance team, liaising with customers, resolving payment issues, and providing detailed updates to management on account statuses

The role will be remote after the training period, but you must be able to travel to Leeds for monthly meetings.

Credit Controller Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee a portfolio of customer accounts, ensuring timely collection of outstanding debts.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer communications, payments, and credit control activities.
  • Communicate directly with customers to resolve payment queries, disputes, or issues, providing professional and effective solutions
  • Monitor aging debt reports and take proactive steps to reduce outstanding balances.
  • Work closely with the finance team to maintain up-to-date customer information and payment details.
  • Report regularly to senior management on the status of accounts and identify any potential risks or issues
  • Assist in reviewing and setting credit limits for new and existing customers
  • Attend monthly team meetings and training in Leeds (expenses will be reimbursed

Credit Controller Key Requirements

  • Previous experience in a Credit Control or Accounts Receivable role
  • Solid understanding of credit control processes, debt collection, and managing aged debt
  • Strong communication skills with a customer-focused approach to resolving payment issues.
  • Highly organised, able to manage a workload effectively and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with accounting software (e.g., Sage, SAP, or similar) is advantageous.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proactive and confident in managing accounts independently
  • Willingness to travel to Leeds once a month for team meet
