My client are looking for a credit controller to help cover until they recruit for a permanent role. Day-to-day of the role:
- Handle credit control tasks including issuing monthly customer statements, and managing communications through letters and phone calls.
- Manage sales invoice processing via EDI and customer portals.
- Address debit notes received, managing approvals, and processing credit notes.
- Liaise with the customer service team, account managers, and agents/sales reps regarding potential issues and debit notes management; arrange regular meetings to address these.
- Conduct credit checks for new account applications and set credit limits for new and existing customers using online services, advising of any issues.
- Maintain records of credit control notes and report monthly to the manager.
- Prepare monthly sales agents and reps commission statements for the UK, Europe, and USA.
- Analyse monthly credit notes and accounts receivables.
- Process payments received via cheque, BACS, and card in multiple currencies (GBP, EUR, USD), including processing refunds.
- Provide support and cover to the team during holidays, busy periods, or projects.
- Adapt to changing business needs and take on new tasks as the role evolves.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a similar role, ideally within an FMCG environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or a related field.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with essential Excel skills.
- Knowledge of VAT and international exports (FOB/Ex-works/DDP).
- Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
- Organised and accurate, with the ability to prioritise effectively.
- Proactive problem solver with a ‘can do’ attitude, agile to change and challenges.
- High energy levels and comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
- An interest in Party, Homewares, Gift, Beauty, Fashion, or Accessories is beneficial.
The hours are 9-5.30pm fully in the office. There may be potential for a permanent role.
