Job Purpose: The Custom Operator will be responsible the proper and timely clearance of freight, providing exceptional customer service, and maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations. This role requires detailed knowledge of customs processes, excellent data management skills, and effective communication with both customers and customs authorities. In addition to the responsibilities outlined in the job description, the employee may be required to take on additional duties as needed to meet business requirements
Key Responsibilities: it is for Temporary basis
Customs Process Management
- Ensure smooth and timely customs process flow for import and export shipments.
- Understand and correctly interpret the import and export customs Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to meet customer expectations.
- Transpose customs declaration information from documents into the customs entry system accurately.
Data Entry and Documentation
- Perform accurate and timely data entry into the operating system.
- Verify and ensure all customs documentation is compliant and correctly filled out.
- Track and trace customs files to ensure timely processing and clearance. Compliance and Verification
- Assist in verifying customs declaration information and ensure submission accuracy to customs authorities.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and external regulations, including AEO and other relevant standards.
Customer Service
- Provide exceptional customer service, keeping internal and external stakeholders informed about declaration statuses and customs issues.
- Generate and communicate VAT and duty invoices to customers.
- Address and resolve any issues or questions from customs authorities and customers promptly.
Liaison and Communication
- Act as the main point of contact between customs authorities, other government agencies, and
- Present necessary documents to customs authorities upon request and attend inspections as required.
- Maintain strong relationships with customs officers and ensure timely communication with overseas offices and partners.
Operational Efficiency
- Continuously seek to improve departmental process flows and efficiencies.
- Keep up-to-date with regulatory requirements affecting the import and export of goods.
Continuous Improvement
- Understand department process flows and identify opportunities for improved efficiency.
- Keep up to date with all regulatory requirements governing the import and export of goods.
Skills and Requirements:
- 6 months + within a freight forwarding business
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Great communication skills
- IT literate - Word, excel
- Good attitude C working in team/Independent.
