Are you passionate about delivering exceptional customer service and resolving disputes? The London Borough of Hackney is looking for a proactive Leasehold Customer Service & Dispute Officer to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will manage a diverse range of homeownership enquiries, disputes, and complaints, ensuring that our leaseholders, shared owners, and freeholders receive the support they need.

Your responsibilities will include promptly addressing routine enquiries related to leases, processing sub-letting and alterations requests, and providing comprehensive resolutions for service charge disputes. You will adopt a sensitive and proactive approach to issues surrounding estimates, invoices, account balances, ground rents, and reserve fund balances.

Collaboration is key in this role, as you will liaise with colleagues across the Council, external stakeholders, contractors, and even courts and tribunals to achieve successful outcomes in contentious matters. You will represent Hackney Council at County Courts and Tribunals when needed, addressing disputes and breaches of lease terms.

In addition to handling enquiries and disputes, you will provide administrative support to Homeownership Services. This includes organising resident events, managing the subletting register, and ensuring accurate updates of customer and property details. Your role will also involve preparing reports, issuing standard correspondence, and maintaining accurate records in line with departmental procedures.

We’re looking for candidates who have experience in monitoring and achieving targets, resolving customer queries, and demonstrating excellent customer service practices. Strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to prioritise and organise workloads are essential. Proficiency in IT, particularly with Microsoft and Google applications, is required.
