Job Description :

As a Cyber Coordinator at MBDA, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our cyber security initiatives. This position is essential for ensuring the effective implementation and advancement of our cyber security capabilities in the UK Security Operations Centre (SOC).

Salary: Up to £60,000 depending on experience 

Location: Stevenage (We may be able to offer a relocation package for this role)

Dynamic (hybrid) working: 2 days per week on-site due to workload classification

Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship

Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The opportunity:

The Cyber Security Coordinator reports into the SOC Manager and is responsible for the implementation and maturity of the cyber security capabilities in the UK SOC. The key accountability of this role is to ensure the maintenance and resilience of the 24x7 shift rota and resources.

You will be responsible for responses and support to external requests and auditing of IM within a cyber-security context, such as ISO27001 audits, GDPR requests and contractual questionnaires from customer or suppliers. Responsible for attending the (information management) IM CAB and ensuring that cyber security and compliance due diligence has taken place as well as reporting into SOC any impacting changes.

You will take responsibility for the implementation of the MBDA Group cybersecurity policy within IM UK ensuring gaps and development areas are given assigned action owners. The Cyber Security Coordinator will work in close collaboration with the Cyber Security Administrator and deputise as required.

What we're looking for from you:

  • Good knowledge of SIEM technologies, like Log Rhythm, Splunk ES or QRadar.
  • Strong organisational skills such as project management or shift management.
  • In-depth familiarity with security policies based on industry standards and best practices such as ISO27001, MITRE attack and defend frameworks and GDPR regulations.
  • Experienced within the information security field, with emphasis on security operations, incident management, intrusion analysis, security device installations, configuration, and troubleshooting (e. g., firewall, IDS, etc.).
  • Experience in Log source integration and in developing new correlation rules & Parser writing.
  • Experience in coordinating SOC resources and alert triage activities
  • Ability to communicate efficiently within a team environment along with Incident management process development and/or incident management experience.
  • Solid understanding of information technology and information security required
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with demonstrated skill in presenting analytical data effectively to varied audiences.
  • Ability to work well under pressure with differing levels of Management.
