Data Analyst - Watkin Jones : Job Details

Watkin Jones are looking for a skilled and motivated Data Analyst to join our team and play a key role in providing data to senior management across the group.

This is a new role within the business where you will help set up processes and procedures on the reporting of data, as well as providing insight into current trends within the company and the wider market.

Key responsibilities include extracting and verifying data from colleagues and various systems, maintaining a structured database, and managing payment claims and reports. You will also create regular commercial reports, analyse data to identify trends, and collaborate with the Group Commercial Director to define KPIs that align with business goals. The role involves conducting market research, competitor analysis, and recommending process improvements in collaboration with multiple departments.

This role is based in our office in Bangor, North Wales with an agile approach to work meaning you can work from a variety of locations including home and other offices with prior agreement with your line manager.

What we’re looking for:

The ideal candidate will have a Level 3 education in a related discipline or substantial experience in a relevant profession. You should demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development, including training and staying updated on industry trends and best practices. Essential skills include proficiency in database management and data extraction, advanced MS Excel skills for data analysis and reporting, strong problem-solving abilities, and a keen attention to detail.

You must be able to interpret data, identify trends, and provide actionable recommendations, as well as effectively communicate findings to non-technical audiences. The role also requires the ability to assertively support a point of view, negotiate, and influence decisions while maintaining positive working relationships. Experience with data visualisation tools is essential, and prior experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including senior management, is desirable. Previous experience in a data analyst role would be an advantage.
