Job DescriptionWe're recruiting for aData & Automation Actuary to join us for a period of 12 months (1/1/25-31/12/25) to work on improvement initiatives within the Institutional Retirement Financial Transformation Team. This role will primarily focus on improving the flow of data from Pricing to Financial Reporting. What you'll be doing:
- Leading on a valuation load replacement project.
- Acting as a Prophet SME on the project to improve the flow of data from Pricing to Financial Reporting.
- Initially focussing on Individual Annuity work with colleagues across the business to productionise a new process of converting pricing data to Prophet model point files.
- Expanding the proposed process above to Deferred Annuity business and also Ab Initio" schemes.
- Participating in the wider Data and Automation team's work to improve processes within Finance and other departments we work with.
- Helping to develop and implement innovative ways of operating to improve the efficiency of the Institutional Retirement Finance department and reduce manual work.
- Ensuring any new processes produce clear, useful and accessible controls.
- Using these controls to give confidence to stakeholders about the quality of the new processes.
QualificationsWho we're looking for:
- Qualified Actuary, with experience of the Life Industry
- A strong understanding of / the ability to learn about:- Data processes used to administer insurance business, Modelling software used for actuarial liabilities, Reporting metrics: IFRS and Solvency II, UK Pension Scheme liabilities, Risk and regulatory requirements.
- Strong data manipulation and coding skills (we are open to coding language)
- Good knowledge of Prophet and DCS
- Analytical skills with the ability to review results for reasonableness
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
