Data Engineer - Venn Group : Job Details

Venn Group have partnered with a Local Authority in the South-East to support the Delivery of their new organisational Target Operating Model.

The council is looking at designing changes to processes and services as well as completing work to identify high-level changes in the operating model that can deliver financial savings and efficiencies.

The council is looking to recruit 5 interim candidates to join the Digital team, working closely with the Strategy and Change team and the wider business, to develop a business case for further investment into the programme as a whole and scope out the next phases of work.

A Data Analyst/Engineer is required on a contract basis; with a background in producing data solution that enable business decisions, with architectural awareness and an interest in making those solutions part of a future sustainable strategy.

While the council has an intent to implement a data architecture and a unified analytics platform, it has not done so yet – part of the job of this role is to make the case for doing so, through practical demonstration.

Key responsibilities for the Data Analyst/Engineer:

• Understand business requirements and opportunities for the use of data – working with leaders, users and colleagues in the team to understand the questions that need to be answered
• Aggregate data from disparate systems and existing reporting solutions into a unified platform or environment to answer those questions
• Build dashboards and reports to answer key business questions in areas such as Children's and Adults' Social Care, Housing (including revenues and benefits), and temporary accommodation
• Leverage short-term support from Microsoft to test capabilities of data tool
