This is an exceptional opportunity to play a key role in shaping the organisation's Data landscape and making a real difference to the lives of those it supports.The Role: Data ManagerAs part of an ambitious digital transformation strategy, our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Data Manager to lead a team of 12 in managing all fundraising data received from diverse sources. This role sits within the Data and Analytics Hub, which plays a crucial role in enabling the charity to become a data-driven organisation, leveraging insights to prevent child abuse and neglect.Reporting to the Head of Data and AI, the successful candidate will be responsible for driving efficiency, optimising automation, and ensuring that all supporter data is handled securely and effectively. You will contribute to the execution of the charity's Digital Plan and data strategy, aligning technology operations with broader organisational objectives.Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning & Execution - Support the implementation of the charity's Digital Plan and Data Strategy, ensuring fundraising database operations align with the organisation's objectives. Continuously review and refine data processes to enhance efficiency and adaptability.
  • Team Leadership & Development - Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a collaborative and customer-focused culture. Ensure succession planning and continuous skills development within the team.
  • Operational Delivery - Ensure technology platforms and data infrastructure meet performance targets. Oversee fundraising database applications, maintaining data accuracy, security, and compliance. Drive automation initiatives to improve efficiency.
  • Stakeholder Engagement - Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor. Clearly communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences and advocate for data-driven decision-making.
  • Governance & Compliance - Ensure adherence to GDPR, Consent Management, and compliance requirements related to data collection, storage, and processing.
  • Technology & Innovation - Support the charity's move towards cloud-based infrastructure, continuous integration, and agile working methodologies.
  • Financial & Risk Management - Monitor technology budgets, optimise costs, and mitigate risks related to data infrastructure and security.

Person Specification:

  • Proven experience in a senior data management or technology leadership role.
  • Strong background in administering complex RDBMS CRM solutions (e.g., IBM iSeries, The Raiser's Edge, Azure).
  • Experience with ETL processes, particularly using Talend.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts in plain English.
  • Deep understanding of GDPR legislation, Consent Management, BACS, and Gift Aid.
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills, particularly in multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage teams, drive performance, and implement innovative solutions.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of emerging data technologies and best practices.
