Leveraging cutting-edge technology and data-driven insights to stay ahead in a competitive market.Job Description: As a Data Scientist, you will play a critical role in transforming raw data into actionable insights that drive business decisions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and deploy data-driven models and solutions that enhance pricing, underwriting, claims, and customer experience processes. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Python, DataBricks, AWS, and Statistics.Key Responsibilities:
- Data Analysis & Modelling: Analyse complex datasets to uncover trends, patterns, and insights. Develop predictive models, particularly focusing on tree-based models such as Random Forests, Gradient Boosting Machines, and XGBoost, to improve risk assessment and customer segmentation.
- Data Engineering: Collaborate with Data Engineers to design and implement scalable data pipelines on AWS using DataBricks. Ensure data is clean, reliable, and accessible for analysis.
- Model Deployment & Maintenance: Deploy models into production environments using DataBricks and AWS services. Monitor model performance and retrain models as necessary to ensure accuracy and effectiveness.
- Collaboration: Work closely with underwriters, actuaries, and business analysts to understand business needs and translate them into data-driven solutions. Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and cloud technologies. Proactively identify opportunities to apply new methods and technologies to improve existing processes.
Experience:
- 3+ years of experience as a Data Scientist or in a similar role.
- Proven experience with Python for data analysis and machine learning.
- Hands-on experience with DataBricks and AWS for building and deploying data pipelines and models.
- Strong understanding of tree-based models (e.g., Random Forest, Gradient Boosting, XGBoost).
