QBE EO has embarked on a journey of becoming a data-driven organisation. This is a pivotal role in designing data solutions of the future, embedding Data architecture best practices and we are looking for an experienced Data solution architect to join our organisation, where you will be responsible for architecting the solutions to support our various business functions through data solutions. Your strong foundation in data technologies, communication skills, ability to influence senior stakeholders as well as engage and work with key colleagues will ensure success in this role.Your new role
Provide support to the Lead Architect on the strategic data thinking on Data projects
Participate in the debate and steer discussions on the data architecture best suited for a data-driven enterprise.
Collaborate with the business domain stakeholders, Product owners and architecture team to develop data solutions to meet the projects needs.
Ensure the inventory of all the data artefacts for the project are maintained for use by various business domains.
Knowledge of data management strategies to support Governance, Classification and Security processes.
Experience of approaches for information lifecycle management.
Your story so far
To be successful in this Underwriting role you will have…
Proven experience in data analytics and data architecture/design, with excellent knowledge of various styles of data architecture, and experience with implementing at least two.
Knowledge of technology to support events and materialized views, as well as emerging data technologies, such as predictive analytics, data visualization and NoSQL databases.
Knowledge of Microsoft azure platform and components, Databricks, Synapse for Data storage and processing, and experience with Master and reference Data Management
Experience with transformation projects and out-of-the-box thinking as well as working with third parties will be an advantage.
Excellent stakeholder management skills and ability to communicate complex problems and solutions to senior leadership
Desirable skills
Ideally Data certificates i.e. Data Management Association’s (DAMA) Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) designation or something equivalent, but a solid background will be considered if no certifications, and preferable knowledge of Insurance, or Finance sector.
