Defects and Aftercare Lead

Location: Hybrid (Barking/Home)Salary: £60,000 - £72,000 p.a.

Goodman Masson is proud to be partnering with Barking & Dagenham Reside Regeneration Ltd (BD Reside) to recruit an experienced Defects and Aftercare Lead. This is an exciting opportunity to play a crucial role in managing defects and aftercare for new-build stock, ensuring high-quality homes and excellent customer satisfaction.

As the Defects and Aftercare Lead, you will be responsible for diagnosing, submitting claims, and managing defects across Reside's new-build portfolio. You will work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure a seamless transition from construction to occupation, improving design standards and enhancing the customer experience.

? Collaborate with development partners to ensure high performance standards and proactively address any risks.? Develop and implement policies for smooth handovers and defect management.? Lead the defects and aftercare process, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.? Work closely with contractors and consultants to identify and resolve defects efficiently.? Provide training on defect diagnosis and home demonstrations.? Oversee budgets related to defects management, ensuring cost efficiency.? Manage and respond to complaints and potential latent defect claims.? Lead and develop the Defects and Aftercare Officer.

? Strong experience in defect diagnosis and new-build construction.? Technical and construction knowledge with expertise in defect/repair management.? Experience with new home warranties and claims.? Ability to influence and lead relationships with contractors and suppliers.? Proactive approach to developing policies and processes for defect management.? Excellent IT and housing system knowledge.? A housing or construction-related qualification (HNC, NVQ level 4 or similar).

? Experience managing a team in a high-pressure environment.? Membership of a relevant professional body (IOSH, RICS, CIOB, RIBA, CIBSE, IFSM).
