We are seeking a motivated and experienced Depot Manager to join our team and lead the day-to-day operations of our busy depot. Key ResponsibilitiesAs the Depot Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring smooth operations, maximising efficiency, and driving profitability. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Resource Optimization: You’ll ensure the optimal use of company resources, working to maximise profitability while minimising stock loss.
  • Sales Growth: Actively seek new business opportunities and drive sales to increase the company’s footprint.
  • Health & Safety Leadership: Oversee the welfare and safety of all staff, ensuring compliance with Health & Safety regulations across the depot.
  • Operational Management: Manage daily depot operations, constantly seeking opportunities for improvement, and ensuring all procedures are followed efficiently.
  • Cross-Department Coordination: Work closely with teams across transport, HR, accounts, and buying to ensure seamless operations.
  • Team Management & Development: Lead and manage the depot team, conducting regular performance reviews, overseeing staff training, and ensuring coverage during leave periods.
  • Customer Service Excellence: Ensure the highest levels of service for all collections and deliveries, enhancing the customer experience.
  • Maintenance Oversight: Oversee the upkeep of the depot’s buildings, yard, and machinery to ensure a well-maintained working environment.

What You’ll Bring

  • A proven track record in depot or operational management, ideally within the building materials industry.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong sales experience
  • A proactive attitude and a drive to seek out new business opportunities.
  • A solid understanding of Health & Safety regulations.
