As we expand our educational horizons with the Trust, we are seeking a dynamic and passionate Deputy Faculty Leader for English to join our school at an exciting time of growth and development. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in leading the English department as we build on our successes and work collaboratively within a thriving Multi Academy Trust.
The Role:As Deputy Faculty Leader for English, you will work closely with the Faculty Leader to help shape and drive forward the vision and strategic direction of the department. You will take on a leadership role in delivering high-quality teaching, ensuring that the curriculum is inspiring, engaging, and accessible for all students. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual to make a significant impact on the educational experience of students at Frogmore Community College, while also being part of the broader vision and ambition of Weydon Multi Academy Trust.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Faculty Leader in developing and implementing the strategic vision for the English department.
- Lead and inspire a team of English teachers, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning, and student progress.
- Take responsibility for key areas of the English curriculum and pedagogy, ensuring it is challenging, inclusive, and aligned with the school’s values.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, setting high expectations and providing targeted interventions where necessary.
- Foster a culture of continuous professional development within the department, encouraging collaboration, innovation, and best practices.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of a rich extra-curricular program, including literacy initiatives, book clubs, and more.
- Work closely with other departments and leaders within the school and across the Trust to ensure a cohesive and consistent approach to education.
- Play an active role in driving the school’s wider improvement agenda, ensuring the success and achievement of all students.
- Lead by example in maintaining high standards of classroom teaching, behaviour, and pastoral care.
About You:
- A qualified English teacher with a proven track record of success in the classroom, ideally with leadership experience or the aspiration to develop further in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of the English curriculum at Key Stage 3, 4, with the ability to inspire and challenge students across all key stages.
- A passion for English and the ability to engage and motivate both students and staff.
- Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and support a team of teachers to deliver outstanding outcomes.
- A collaborative approach to leadership, with a commitment to building a positive and inclusive departmental culture.
- Outstanding organisational and communication skills, with a focus on delivering results.
- A strong commitment to professional development and a desire to be part of a dynamic and ambitious Multi Academy Trust.
