Fire Detection Design Engineer – Global Marine & Navy Team
About the Role:
We’re offering an exciting opportunity to join our Global Marine & Navy team as a Fire Detection Design Engineer. In this role, you’ll be responsible for creating fire alarm design drawings that meet stringent marine regulations, with direct reporting to the Engineering Manager.

What You Will Do:
Design & Engineering: Develop fire detection and alarm designs in line with marine standards, ensuring all designs meet client specifications and industry regulations.
Project Involvement: Collaborate closely with project teams to interpret technical specifications and commercial documentation, contributing to the success of marine fire detection projects.
Client & Supplier Liaison: Act as a key point of contact, providing engineering solutions and working closely with clients and suppliers to ensure project requirements are met.
Documentation & Delivery: Produce and deliver high-quality documentation on time, ensuring projects are completed within budget and according to client specifications.
Site Surveys & Testing: Travel within the UK and overseas as required to survey existing systems, set up equipment for Factory Acceptance Tests, and ensure systems are tested and ready before deployment.
What We’re Looking For:
Essential:
Proven experience in electrical engineering.
Minimum HNC/HND in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
Strong ability to interpret technical specifications.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Solid knowledge of Fire & Gas detection equipment.
Experience with AutoCAD for design work.
Preferred:
Experience with software and graphic systems.
Full UK driving license.
Familiarity with Tyco Fire Detection systems.
Prior experience in Fire & Gas design.
SC clearance or BPSS clearance, particularly for work on MOD projects.
