Design and Technology Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated Design and Technology Teacher to join a dynamic secondary education team. This temporary role offers a unique opportunity to inspire and educate students in a vibrant learning environment. The ideal candidate will be passionate about fostering creativity and innovation in the field of design and technology.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences in Design and Technology.
- Develop schemes of work and lesson plans in line with curriculum objectives.
- Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment.
- Use relevant technology to support instruction.
- Observe and evaluate student performance and development.
- Assign and grade class work, homework, tests, and assignments.
- Provide appropriate feedback on work.
- Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of students’ progress and development.
- Update all necessary records accurately and completely as required by laws and school policies.
- Manage student behaviour in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.
- Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the school.
- Participate in department, school, and parent meetings.
- Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues, and parents regarding student progress and student needs.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Degree in Design and Technology or a related subject.
- Proven experience as a Design and Technology Teacher.
- Thorough knowledge of teaching best practices and legal educational guidelines partnered with a willingness to follow the school’s policies and procedures.
- Excellent communicability and interpersonal skills.
- Well-organised and committed.
- Creative and energetic.
- Strong moral values and discipline.
