We are proud of our safeguarding culture and are looking for an experienced, dedicated, and empathetic individual to join our team as the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (Deputy DSL).Key Responsibilities:
As the Deputy DSL, you will work closely with the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) to:
- Support the implementation and monitoring of safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Act as a point of contact for staff, parents, and external agencies regarding safeguarding concerns.
- Lead on safeguarding cases in the absence of the DSL.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of safeguarding concerns.
- Deliver safeguarding training and updates to staff as required.
- Participate in multi-agency meetings and child protection conferences.
- Promote a culture of safeguarding across the school/organisation, ensuring the safety and well-being of all students.
What We're Looking For:
- Proven experience working in a safeguarding or child protection role, ideally in an education setting.
- In-depth knowledge of current safeguarding legislation, including Keeping Children Safe in Education and Working Together to Safeguard Children.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
- Excellent organsational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and build strong relationships with staff, students, and external agencies.
- Relevant qualifications, such as Level 3 Safeguarding training, are desirable but not essential.
