Despatch Coordinator – Cardiff
Salary: £34,200 per annum

We are seeking a Despatch Coordinator for a well-established company due to continued expansion.
The Role:
Reporting to the Despatch Front Line Manager, you will be responsible for managing and monitoring safety, performance, and compliance tasks within the Despatch department. You will support the safe receipt, handling, and distribution of all goods in accordance with legal and company requirements.
Main Duties:
- Input and monitor all hazard reporting, providing trending feedback to Front Line Managers in Despatch.
- Take a lead role in delivering workplace audits, supporting the ‘Safety First’ message.
- Assume direct ownership of task allocation to the operative workforce, optimising the use of the company’s Warehouse Management System (WMS) and labour flexibility.
- Manage time effectively, dedicating 25% of daily activities to tasks and 75% in a supervisory capacity.
- Develop operatives who embody the company's values and possess the necessary knowledge, skills, attitudes, and qualifications.
- Ensure first-class agency management, including timesheet collation and payroll systems.
- Support the Despatch department’s order fill, cost, and efficiency KPIs by optimising the use of the company’s WMS.
- Address any service and stock issues promptly and escalate them as necessary.
- Support Front Line Managers in delivering the ‘Safety First’ message.
- Build and develop effective relationships with other teams on site to ensure cross-functional collaboration and optimal performance.
- Provide management cover for the Front Line Manager in their absence, demonstrating a willingness to develop the skills and knowledge required for career progression.
About You:
- Previous supervisory experience is desirable.
- Experience in a comparable blue-chip FMCG role is preferred.
- Proficient in using PCs, including Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint, and Word; capable of using Warehouse Management Systems.
- Good numeracy and literacy skills are essential.
