Draughtsperson - Premier Engineering : Job Details

JOB - DraughtspersonLOCATION - PeterboroughTERM - PermanentSALARY - £30,000 to £35,000 per annum (plus benefits)Premier Engineering is working with a well-established engineering company based in Peterborough that is looking to hire a Draughtsperson. This role is ideal for someone with experience in SolidWorks, sheet metal, and fabrication design.The Draughtsperson will ideally have the following attributes:

• A relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (HND, HNC, BEng, etc.).
• Strong proficiency in SolidWorks for 2D and 3D design.
• Experience working with sheet metal and fabrication design.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, including laser cutting, welding, and machining.
• Ability to produce detailed technical drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
• Understanding of industry standards and tolerances.

The Draughtsperson role will involve:

• Producing accurate 2D and 3D technical drawings using SolidWorks.
• Designing sheet metal and fabricated components for manufacture.
• Generating and managing BOMs.
• Working closely with engineers and production teams to ensure designs meet manufacturing requirements.
• Assisting with design modifications and improvements.
• Ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer specifications.
