Role Overview:
We are looking for a motivated and talented Design and Technology Teacher to inspire and engage students across Key Stage 3, 4, and 5. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons across a range of design disciplines, including Product Design, Engineering, and Resistant Materials, ensuring that students gain the knowledge and skills needed for future success. The role also involves creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment where students can explore their creativity, build practical skills, and develop critical thinking abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
· Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in Design and Technology, tailored to different learning needs and abilities. · Inspire students to explore their creative potential and develop a passion for design and technology. · Develop and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to promote learning and improvement. · Maintain a safe and stimulating learning environment, ensuring all health and safety regulations are adhered to. · Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the continued success and development of the Design and Technology department. · Encourage students to take part in extracurricular activities related to Design and Technology, including clubs, projects, and competitions.
Ideal Candidate:
· A qualified Design and Technology teacher with a degree in a relevant subject (e.g., Design and Technology, Engineering, or Product Design). · Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage and inspire students. · A creative and adaptable approach to teaching, with a passion for making learning relevant and exciting. · Experience in teaching Resistant Materials or Engineering would be an advantage, but not essential. · A commitment to student well-being and success, and a desire to contribute to a positive school culture.
