DTF Printing Operative - Taylor Whitmore Limited : Job Details

We currently have the pleasure of hiring on behalf of our well-established client in Earl Soham, who are expanding their team and looking for motivated DTF Printing Operatives to join their growing business.

Our client is a leading distributor of garment decoration services, specializing in screen printing and embroidery. As one of the largest distributors in Europe, they take pride in delivering high-quality printed products to their customers.

Role Responsibilities:

As a Printing Operative, your tasks will include but are not limited to:

• Operate DTF Printing Equipment: Impose and send jobs to the DTF printing machines. Set up and operate DTF printing machines, ensuring proper operation, calibration, and quality control throughout the print process. Specifically Ricoh Pro D1600 and inline powder shaker/dryer and Numatic XY Cutter.
• Prepare Materials: Load and align film, select appropriate inks, and ensure all materials are prepped for optimal print quality.
• Monitor Print Quality: Inspect prints for consistency, color accuracy, and resolution, adjusting settings as needed to meet quality standards.
• Troubleshoot Issues: Identify and resolve issues related to the printing process, such as print defects, ink flow, or equipment malfunctions.
• Maintain Equipment: Perform routine maintenance, including cleaning and basic troubleshooting, to ensure the equipment is in good working condition.
• Quality Control: Perform detailed quality checks on finished prints to ensure adherence to company standards and customer specifications.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate production records, including job details, print settings, material usage, and equipment maintenance logs.
• Collaborate with Team: Work closely with pre-press and post-printing teams to ensure timely completion of orders and maintain efficient workflow.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.

Requirements:

• Technical Skills: An understanding of the DTF printing process, including handling and troubleshooting printing machinery. Experience of the ColorGATE Software RIP or similar.
• Attention to Detail: Ability to identify and correct issues related to print quality and equipment performance.
• Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills to address and resolve issues in the printing process.
• Team Player: Able to work effectively with others in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift materials, and handle printing equipment safely.

Desired Skills:

• Some familiarity with graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop) for basic editing of print files.
• Knowledge of color management, printing techniques, and materials.
• Experience with heat pressing or other garment printing methods is a plus.

Working Hours & Pay:

• Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (flexibility required for business needs, including occasional early starts or late finishes)
• £11.44 per hour
