Job Title: Duty Manager – Pool & Fitness CentreLocation: SalisburyType: Permanent, Full-TimeSalary: £27,000 per annumPurpose:My client is seeking an experienced and dedicated Duty Manager to oversee the daily operations of their Swimming Pool and Fitness Centre. The successful candidate will ensure the facilities are maintained to the highest standards and provide support for both school and external users. If you're a proactive leader with a passion for fitness and safety, this is an excellent opportunity to manage a key part of the school’s community.Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day management of the swimming pool and fitness centre, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and readiness for use.
- Act as a key holder, responsible for opening, closing, and securing the facilities according to the operational schedule.
- Maintain high standards across the swimming pool, gym areas, changing rooms, and other related facilities.
- Lead and motivate pool and fitness centre staff, manage rotas, and ensure compliance with safety and staffing requirements.
- Uphold health and safety standards, ensuring compliance with HSG179 and PWTAG guidelines.
- Manage pool plant operations, including water quality, chemical dosing, and compliance with COSHH regulations.
- Collaborate with the Head of Department to support school curriculum activities and external events.
Health & Safety:
- Ensure Pool Safety Operating Procedures and risk assessments are current and adhered to.
- Maintain pool records, perform routine checks on equipment, and manage stock orders for replacement supplies.
- Support lifeguard training, including NPLQ qualifications and competency assessments.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Essential:
- National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ)
- Pool Plant Operator’s Licence
- First Aid at Work Certification
- Experience in health & safety, team management, and customer service
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
