Job Title: Technical Consultant – Dynamics 365 F&SCM UpgradeLocation: Hybrid (Birmingham, UK) – On-site every 2 weeksSalary: Up to £80,000 Company Overview:Our client is a leading manufacturing business based in Birmingham, renowned for providing cutting-edge products to global markets within the Aerospace, Automotive, and Marine sectors. With decades of industry expertise, they are now embarking on a major transformation of their IT systems as they upgrade from Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (F&O) 2016 to Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management (F&SCM). This is an exciting opportunity for a technical consultant to play a key role in a high-profile project that will have a lasting impact on the business.Role Overview:As a Technical Consultant, you will be integral to the successful upgrade and implementation of the new Dynamics 365 F&SCM solution. Working closely with internal teams and external partners, you will leverage your expertise in Dynamics 365 to ensure the seamless transition of key functionality. You will be responsible for identifying system enhancements, troubleshooting issues, and offering technical guidance throughout the upgrade process.Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the technical aspects of the Dynamics 365 F&SCM upgrade, from planning through to implementation.
  • Collaborate with functional consultants, project managers, and business stakeholders to ensure alignment between business requirements and technical solutions.
  • Provide expertise in core F&SCM modules, identifying opportunities for improvement and optimisation.
  • Ensure data migration is executed successfully, supporting the mapping and validation of data.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, ensuring minimal disruption during the upgrade process.
  • Provide ongoing post-upgrade support and contribute to training and documentation for end-users.
  • Assist with system testing, ensuring all modules are functioning according to requirements.
  • Support the integration of F&SCM with other business-critical systems.
Key Requirements:
  • Strong experience with Dynamics 365 F&SCM, particularly in core modules such as Finance, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing.
  • Previous experience in leading or supporting major Dynamics 365 upgrades, ideally from F&O 2016 to F&SCM or similar.
  • Solid understanding of technical architecture, integration points, and data migration within Dynamics 365 environments.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, Power Platform, and related Microsoft technologies is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of explaining complex technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a flexible, solution-oriented mindset.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 certification (F&SCM or equivalent).
  • Previous experience in manufacturing, aerospace, automotive, or marine sectors is a plus.
