Within E.ON, our Energy Markets UK function provides access to the whole energy market for the UK and is at the heart of some of the biggest changes that will be impacting the industry as a whole. As a graduate on the Energy Markets scheme, the projects you will work on will help shape how the department operates in the future and you'll be supported at every stage of your journey by a diverse range of industry experts. The Market Optimisation graduate programme will give you a commercial understanding of all areas in Energy Markets such as trading, volume forecasting and portfolio management.

Here’s what you will be doing

A graduate programme allows you to put some of your academic learning into practice, get into the detail of the industry and develop as an individual.

During your two-year programme as a Market Optimisation graduate you will complete four placements in different areas of Energy Markets, each with a commercial focus. With each six-month placement you will be involved in the day-to-day activities of the role as well as specific projects to ensure we remain a market leading function. While your first placement will be chosen for you, you are able to pick the remaining three to focus on areas that are of particular interest to you, whether this be trading, volume forecasting or a more customer focused role on our Optimisation Desk.

Throughout your time on the programme, you will be fully supported at E.ON by the Energy Markets leadership team, your career manager, mentor, placement manager and a dedicated buddy who has recently joined Energy Markets.

What we need from you

• At least a 2:2 Bachelor's Degree in any discipline.
• A willingness to learn and the motivation to succeed.
• Good communication, data analysis and problem-solving skills.

Here’s what you need to know

• This role is based in our Coventry office (CV4 8LG) with a combination of office and home working depending on the placement.
• A starting salary of £32,000 with annual bonus.

• The assessment centre for the Graduate Scheme will be taking place in our Coventry office (CV4 8LG) in January 2025.
