Early Years Practitioner (Mat Cover) / Nursery Teaching Assistant - SN2

My client is seeking a dedicated and ambitious Early Years Practitioner to support the Room Lead in creating a warm, language-rich learning environment that encourages social and developmental milestones. A successful placement at the school is also likely to lead to a permanent contract being offered.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Assist in delivering engaging, scaffolded learning opportunities to meet each child’s needs, including those with Special Needs.
  • Work with key children to track learning progress and achieve developmental milestones.
  • Support children’s language, social, and physical development, with tasks such as first aid, toilet training, and individual support.
  • Prepare materials, organize classroom displays, and assist with setup and cleanup of activities.
  • Use Target Tracker to monitor and document children’s achievements and progress under the Room Lead’s guidance.
  • Maintain constructive relationships with parents and communicate children’s progress to enhance home-to-school connections.

About You

  • Be able to do the job as described.
  • Hold an Early Years Level 2 Educator qualification.
  • Bring excellent communication skills to build relationships with young children, parents, and staff.
  • Display good judgment, professionalism, and discretion when handling sensitive information.
  • Possess strong IT skills and willingness to learn new school software.
