Reed Education are working with a nursey based on the outskirts of Crawley. They are seeking a dedicated Early Years Practitioner to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care and education to young children, following the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) statutory guidelines and ensuring the safety and well-being of the children at all times.
Day to Day of the role:
- Understand and implement the EYFS statutory guidelines and nursery policies.
- Self-evaluate practice to maintain high standards in line with the nursery’s ethos.
- Plan and deliver engaging play activities based on children’s interests and developmental needs.
- Ensure high-quality interaction with children, promoting positive behaviour and inclusion.
- Build strong relationships with key children and their parents, providing regular feedback and support.
- Share responsibility for health and safety, maintaining a safe and hygienic environment.
- Carry out risk assessments and report any incidents or accidents to the management.
- Keep up to date with paperwork and manage time efficiently to support nursery operations.
- Work collaboratively with the team, attending meetings and undertaking regular training.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Level 2 qualification in childcare and education.
- Level 2 English and maths qualifications (e.g., Functional Skills or GCSEs).
- Current safeguarding training.
- Knowledge of the EYFS Framework and child development.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both individually and as part of a team.
- Self-motivated with a positive attitude and a kind, caring nature.
- Willingness to undertake further relevant training.
- DBS check (required).
Desirable Skills & Qualifications:
- Broad range of GCSE certificates.
- Current First Aid Certificate.
- Experience working with children aged 0-5 years.
- Experience planning for children’s individual needs using the EYFS framework.
- Full, clean UK driving license.
