Economist - eFinancialCareers : Job Details

We are currently working with a Global Macro Hedge Fund who are looking to add an EM economist to their high performing team. This is a chance to work collaboratively with their PMs and wider investment team, and their elite economics team globally. They are looking for someone with a few years’ economics experience, and strong educational background.

The role:

• Cover Local Emerging markets alongside the other, senior economists
• Work closely with the portfolio managers to inform the investment process
• Present research findings to investment teams, contribute to investment committee discussions, and engage with external stakeholders when needed
• Use statistical tools and financial software to interpret large datasets and present key findings

Requirements:

• 1-4 years’ experience as an EM economist, strategist or sovereign debt analyst at a bank, hedge fund or asset manager
• Excellent academic track record in macroeconomics, MSC or PhD
• Familiarity with FX, rates and credit markets, and how macroeconomic factors impact asset prices
• Ability to communicate clearly and efficiently with PMs and the wider investment team
