In this role, you'll manage a caseload to help the Local Authority meet its statutory duties for pupils with SEN and disabilities. Acting as a key worker, you'll explain processes to parents, settings, and colleagues, and handle SEND-related inquiries from schools and the public. You'll leverage community resources, work creatively to develop service improvements, and use a strengths-based approach to support children and young people.
Responsibilities include:
- Supporting statutory responsibilities for SEN and disabilities.
- Acting as the primary contact for EHC Needs Assessments, offering advice and support.
- Managing SEND casework and EHC plans, chairing plan meetings.
- Maintaining accurate records and distributing resources to schools.
- Advising on funding sources and delivering high-quality services.
- Developing innovative service approaches and quality assurance processes.
- Providing advice to SENCOs, Head teachers, and other professionals.
- Influencing stakeholders and ensuring fair treatment.
- Complying with GDPR guidelines for data management.
Essential requirements:
- Relevant qualifications or experience at NVQ/CQF level 4.
- Knowledge of SEND legislation, funding processes, and school systems.
- Experience with children, ICT systems, and various stakeholders.
