Job Description :

A qualified Electrical and Mechanical Engineer with extensive experience is needed to join our team at Windsor Food Machinery based in Kent on a full-time basis. We are a family-run business holding a comprehensive stock of machinery and parts that can be supplied to most UK destinations within 48 hours.

The position will be based at Hamstreet, near Ashford, and the successful applicant will need to be able to commute within a 45-minute drive catchment area of our site or be willing to relocate.

A company van will be available for use when needed. Bonuses and overtime compensation will also be offered.

About Us

For many years, the company has specialised in supplying leading processing machinery brands such as Formatic burger and meatballing machines, Henkelman Vacuum packers which is the UK's & European No 1 brand. We are the UK agent for the incredibly robust Thompson Mixer Grinders. The company also supplies Nowicki industrial bowl choppers, ice flakers and vacuum tumblers, Rex fillers, portioning and forming lines as well as Reich smokers and drying chambers. 

Key Responsibilities:

To install, service and maintain various types of meat and food processing machinery which will involve on-site customer visits, some overnight stays as well as working from our warehouse and offices in Kent - weekend work is rare

To carry out refurbishments on second hand machinery and equipment as required at our premises in Hamstreet as required, i.e. stripping down and replacing of worn out or damaged parts and components

Working under our Workshop Engineering Manager, alongside a team of 4 other engineers

Hours of work: 7.30 am - 4.30 pm Monday-Friday with 1 hour's unpaid lunch hour - Hours outside of this are paid as over-time

Required Experience: 

  • Candidate must be a qualified electrical and mechanical engineer, having completed an industrial time served apprenticeship, with many years' experience post apprenticeship working within an engineering capacity
  • Welding and fabrication experience would also be advantageous
  • A background in repairing machinery would be beneficial 
  • Previous experience of working with FMCG or food processing machinery will be considered an added advantage

Benefits:

  • Overnight stay allowance of £100 per night on top of hotel accommodation and subsistence allowance
  • X 2 bonuses per year pro rata on commencement date vs our financial year of April-March; one is a profit related bonus, and the other a Christmas bonus

  • After 10 years' service + an additional week's week's holiday is given
