Great opportunity for an experienced Electrical Design Manager, to join an excellent Manufacturing Group based at their Bradford site.

The Electrical Design Manager is responsible for the pre-wired electrical feeder pillar product range. Here you liaise with clients to design, draw and price electrical feeder pillars of various specifications, for the Highways, Street Lighting and the EV charging market.

Communication is key to the success of this role, understanding the client’s needs to be able to read and produce drawings in line with their specifications, and work closely with the Electrical Manufacturing Team to ensure the requirements are fully met. With strong commercial awareness, you will ensure that jobs are priced both competitively and in line with financial targets.

Main responsibilities and requirements:

• Head the prewired feeder pillar department, working closely with the sales team on tender bids to grow sales and future business development
• Maintain and build strong working relationships with suppliers, clients and customers
• Design, create and produce product technical drawings and wiring schematics. Updating and adapting if required, to meet client needs
• Creating Bills of material and quotations, in conjunction with the sales team
• Carry out customer visits when required
• Oversee the work of the electricians producing the pre-wired pillars, ensuring quality and providing 'sign off’
• Liaise with all departments, ensuring that timelines are aligned across all elements of product manufacturing and delivery time lines are met

Candidate Requirements:

• Electrical technical qualification, with a Degree/HND/HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• Strong Technical Design experience - must be fully conversant with design drawing package for electrical design schematics
• Highly computer literate
• Excellent communicator with the ability to converse across all levels and forge strong business relationships with existing and prospective customers
• Strong commercial awareness and support business growth
