Fire Safety and Maintenance Engineer

We are seeking a diligent Fire Safety and Maintenance Engineer with a keen eye for detail and strong commercial awareness. The ideal candidate will have a robust understanding of industry standards and experience in fire servicing and maintenance. This role involves working across the East Midlands, with occasional visits to our head office.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Conduct corrective and preventative maintenance on a variety of fire alarm, fire extinguisher, emergency lighting, and FFE systems within social housing buildings.
- Provide certification for serviced systems to ensure compliance with relevant British Standards.
- Participate in an emergency call-out rota within the East Midlands region.
- Accurately maintain reporting requirements using a company-issued device.
- Adhere to all health and safety procedures and ensure compliance among colleagues.
- Manage vehicle and stock levels to meet client demands.
- Attend site meetings as required.
- Repair, install, or replace fire alarm, emergency lighting, and FFE systems.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience in servicing and maintenance of Fire Alarms, Emergency Lighting, and FFE systems.
- City & Guilds 1 & 2 Electrical Installation Qualification or equivalent.
- BS 5839-1 Fundamentals in FD&A Unit 1 & 2.
- 18th Edition Training.
- ECS / CSCS Card.
- AOV Servicing experience and/or training.
- Field-based role comfortability across the East Midlands.
Preferred but not essential:
- Experience with servicing & maintenance of portable fire extinguishers.
- Emergency Lighting Part 1: Design.
- Emergency Lighting Part 2: Advanced Maintenance & Operation.
- Experience with Door Access Systems, Intruder Alarms, and Telecare Systems.
- Relevant Health & Safety training, including working at heights or asbestos awareness.
