My client is a world-renowned packaging company and is a leading provider of corrugated packaging within the UK and are seeking an Electrically Biased Maintenance Engineer to work with a strong team of maintenance engineers. As part of the team of you will provide planned and reactive maintenance of production lines and plant equipment.
Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias)
£45,000 - £53,518
Northampton
Shift Pattern – 4 on 4 off – (6AM – 6PM) & (6PM-6AM)
Repeated for 7 sets and this will be followed by 18 days off.

Responsibilities include
- Be able to read electrical diagrams to re - wire and wire, deal with repair and replace single phase and three phase motors.
- You will effectively lead and service and repair the machinery equipment & assets.
- You will be required to work on some mechanical issues including pneumatics work,
- You will be able to replace and repair invertors, relays, AC & DC 3 phase motor Drives.
- Commissioning of new machinery, Breakdowns, service & installation
- You will be able to read as well as understand electrical diagrams and schematics, dealing with any electrical circuits, wiring or re wiring.
- Understanding and dealing with the replacement of ethernet cables and dealing with 415vlt machinery.
Essential:
- Strong customer service skills
- Must be comfortable with big machinery.
- Experience of packaging, fmcg, industrial or another manufacturing industry.
- Must be able to understand electrical diagrams, deal with single phase and three phase motors.
- Have a good understanding of invertors, relays, and fault finding
- Some experience or understanding of either pneumatics or hydraulics.
- Strong Electrical background with mechanical experience.
- A related qualification in mechanical engineering or similar
- A HNC, HND, Level 3 or a 1–2-year City & Guilds qualification is also welcome.
