Job Title: Electrician Location: Melksham Contract: 12 months FTC (potential for permanent) Hours: 40 hours Salary: £40,500 + van and tools Job Summary: The purpose of this role is to carry out day to day repairs and maintenance to our occupied and void housing stock. There will also be a necessity to be available for the out of hours cover on a rota system. Responsibilities
- Deliver works to a high standard in accordance with your training, experience and industry best practice.
- Ensure all electrical works are carried out using best practice and fully compliant with BS7671 and building regulations.
- Always ensure full compliance within guidelines, assist with the monitoring of timekeeping, Health & Safety, and general on-site behaviour
- Ensure maximum productivity is achieved whilst maintaining quality and delivering in the most effective and efficient manner.
- To ensure the satisfaction of the customer by having a fixed first-time approach to all jobs
- Follow work instructions efficiently and carry out works required as detailed in the instruction
- An ability to work alone and within set timescales and deadlines
- Follow agreed objectives, targets and deadlines.
- Carry out work as per the Risk Assessments and Method Statements
- Assist the Contract manager / supervisors to ensure the working environment is safe and compliant with Health & Safety policies and legislation.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, standards, procedures and initiatives
- Ensure strict compliance with legislative requirements
- Ensure use of PDA and IT systems to improve performance
- Develop and maintain good levels of communication with Colleagues and customers
- Communicate with planners, call handlers and members of the R&M and wider team to ensure the smooth day to day operation of the repairs service
- Develop good working relationships with colleagues across the organisation
- Co-ordinate with other operatives on site and work as team
- Be available for the out of hours rota
