Opportunity:

As FRP grows, so does the need to expand their restructuring offices. They are currently in need of an experienced Employee Relations Advisor at an Assistant Manager level.

The Employee Relations Advisor Assistant Manager is a national role responsible for coordinating the ERA assistance program offered by FRP’s restructuring offices to employees affected by redundancy following a formal insolvency process. The role involves leading the redundancy process, calculating entitlements, and generating reports to confirm outcomes. The Assistant Manager will also oversee two direct reports, process claims, liaise with the Government, and ensure compliance with all relevant procedures. Additionally, they will manage and update pension data for employees.

Working closely with the Employee Relations Administrator, the Assistant Manager will support the redundancy process, maintain accurate employee records, and ensure all interactions with the government and third parties align with official guidelines and procedures.

This is a full time, hybrid position - 3 days will be required in the Brentwood offices. Some travel is also required, dependent on client needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and upload employee data to our system, processing claims and correcting discrepancies.
  • Submit data and cases to the Government, addressing any issues that arise.
  • Respond to employee queries on claims and entitlements, assisting with amendments as needed.
  • Lead the redundancy process on-site and via Teams/Zoom meetings.
  • Calculate employee entitlements, supporting the Restructuring Team with report generation.
  • Produce employee letters, supporting documentation, and statutory pension notices.
  • Use Foxit to convert, amend, and merge PDF documents.
  • Complete reference requests, HMRC maternity forms, and reconcile government payments.
  • Manage pension claims, including gaining access to schemes, liaising with providers, and submitting forms to the Government.
  • Maintain progress reports on pension claims and communicate updates to the Restructuring Team.
  • Review employment tribunal claims and prepare response letters for the Court.
  • Manage and mentor two direct reports, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities to foster their professional growth and ensure high performance within the team.

In addition to these characteristics, there are a few additional non-negotiables which you will need for this role...

  • CIPD Level 5 Qualified (or equivalent) or working towards it.
  • Relevant experience in a similar role, including payroll, pension payments, and schemes.
  • Strong knowledge of employee and labour relations principles, with in-depth understanding of state and local labour laws.
  • Experience maintaining and updating HR systems and case management, with a track record of developing programs that positively impact employee relations.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, along with proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Able to travel as needed, including occasional overnight stays, and commute to relevant sites.
  • Confident, pragmatic, and able to work effectively in an autonomous environment.
