Employee Relations Advisor

Contract: Full-time, Permanent (38.75 hours per week)

Location: Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham

  • (Hybrid, 3 days office, 2 from home)

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum

We are looking for a passionate and people-focused Employee Relations Advisor to join our team. In this role, you will provide expert advice and guidance to our managers, ensuring a fair, consistent, and supportive approach to people management. You will play a key part in fostering a positive and respectful working environment where our colleagues feel heard and supported.

What your day-to-day could look like with us...

  • Acting as the first point of contact for line managers, providing advice on employee relations matters, policies, and employment law.
  • Managing queries and questions that come through our dedicated ER line.
  • Supporting and coaching managers through performance, probation, and employee development processes.
  • Helping to build people management capability by delivering training and coaching on best practices in employee relations.
  • Partnering with the wider People team to develop and implement initiatives that support our culture, values, and talent strategy.
  • Using data and insights to help shape decision-making and improve our people processes.
  • Ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and employment legislation while balancing a people-first approach.

What we're looking for:

  • Proven experience as an Employee Relations professional or similar role.
  • CIPD Level 3 or 5 Qualified or with proven experience.
  • Knowledge of UK employment law and best practices in ER case management.
  • Experience managing ER cases and able to provide sound practical advice.
  • A people-first mindset with the confidence to challenge and influence when needed.
  • Working knowledge of Excel and functional experience working with HRIS.
  • A proactive and hands-on approach to managing employee relations.
