We’re looking for an Engineering Manager to lead a team of Manufacturing Engineers within a well-established business in Darwen. This is a fantastic opportunity for a strong leader with a background in manufacturing and a passion for driving operational excellence.

As the Engineering Manager, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the engineering function runs safely, efficiently, and effectively. You’ll develop governance structures, oversee projects, and ensure manufacturing processes meet quality and performance standards.

Team Leadership - Lead, mentor, and develop the engineering team, ensuring resources and competencies meet business needs.Project Management - Oversee engineering projects from concept to delivery, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.Process & Quality Improvement - Drive continuous improvement using Lean Manufacturing principles to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.Stakeholder Management - Build strong relationships with internal teams, customers, and external partners to ensure seamless operations.Technical Oversight - Ensure compliance with industry standards and provide technical support to business development functions.Strategic Planning - Contribute to the company’s Technology Roadmap, leading innovation and ensuring long-term success.

Experience:

• 5+ years’ experience in a senior engineering leadership role within a global manufacturing business (Aerospace preferred).
• Strong background in Lean / Continuous Improvement and New Product Introduction (APQP experience desirable).
• Proven ability to lead change, improve processes, and drive operational success.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Degree in Engineering (Masters or Chartered status desirable).
• Strong problem-solving skills, with a strategic and hands-on approach.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
