The Role

As an English Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students. You will create a positive learning environment, foster a love of literature and language, and inspire students to achieve their academic potential. Key Responsibilities:

• Teach English to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students, focusing on both language and literature
• Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons that meet the needs of diverse learners
• Support students in preparing for GCSE examinations
• Contribute to the development and improvement of the English department’s curriculum and teaching resources
• Provide constructive and regular feedback to students to support their academic growth
• Promote a positive and inclusive classroom culture that fosters engagement and participation
• Engage with parents and guardians to keep them informed about students' progress
• Take part in professional development and school-wide initiatives

The Ideal Candidate

They are looking for an enthusiastic and committed teacher who:

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent qualification
• Has a degree in English or a related subject
• Has experience teaching Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students, with a focus on English Language and Literature
• Demonstrates strong classroom management and the ability to create an engaging learning environment
• Is passionate about student success and committed to professional growth
• Works well as part of a collaborative team

Desirable:

• Experience teaching A-Level English (not essential)
• Knowledge of current curriculum developments and assessment practices
