Position: Oil Trading Analyst

Overview: Our client is a leading Oil Major who is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Oil Trading Analyst to join their Oil Trading team. This role is pivotal in supporting the trading desk with critical analytical insights and reporting, ensuring the smooth operation and success of their trading activities.

Key Responsibilities:

As an Oil Trading Analyst you will play a crucial role in supporting the trading desk. Your main duties will include:

• Daily PnL/Position Reporting: Perform daily profit and loss/position reports for the trading desk.
• Oil Supply/Demand Balances: Maintain and develop oil supply and demand balances to support trading decisions.
• Database Management: Build and improve databases essential for trading analysis and operations.
• Systematic Trading Strategies: Develop and validate systematic trading strategies to enhance trading performance.
• Ad Hoc Projects: Complete various projects as required by traders to support trading activities.
• Trade Idea Generation: Contribute to the generation of trade ideas by providing analytical insights and market intelligence.
• ICT Collaboration: Work closely with the ICT team to drive necessary developments and improvements in trading tools and systems.

Candidate Specifications:

We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented individual with the ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines. The ideal candidate will possess:

• Programming Skills: Proficiency in VBA and Python.
• Statistical/Mathematical Skills: Strong analytical skills with a solid understanding of statistics and mathematics.
• Academic Credentials: Strong academic background with a specialization in a numeracy-oriented field.
• Experience: Previous experience in a similar role within the oil trading industry is preferred.
