Environmental GIS Technician - Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited : Job Details

Your new companyA Manchester based design and environmental consultancy that operates UK wide, they specialize in architecture, urban design, landscape planning, GIS, arboriculture and ecology. Their projects range across commercial, education, healthcare, residential, leisure, infrastructure and retail.A close-knit organisation with a family feel, looking to expand due to continuous growth.Your new roleAs a GIS Technician, you will use ArcGIS and QGIS to support various internal teams, predominantly Arboriculture, Ecology, Landscape Planning and Biodiversity. You will be split between working from home and office days in the Manchester office.Main duties include:

• Ecological Mapping and Analysis (including Habitat and BNG mapping)
• Arboricultural Mapping and Analysis (including BS5837 and Visual Tree Assessment maps)
• Spatial Data Management
• Examining the connectivity within networks, such as roads, rivers, power lines etc
• Support the wider team on EIA (Environmental Impact Assessment) projects

What you'll need to succeed

• Proven experience as a GIS Technician
• A relevant degree
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with GIS on environmental projects (ideal)
