Job Description :

Due to an increased workload, we are looking for Environmental Trials and Analysis Engineers to join one of Europe’s leading defence companies. You will be conducting complex analysis, whilst supporting both laboratory and field trials. You will be part of the trials and analysis team, within the environmental sector of the business; they are integral for all land, sea and air-based system projects, as well as providing a focal point for all stages of a product lifecycle. Expertise covers the areas of requirements specification and management; data analysis; simulation and modelling; and testing in climatic, mechanical (vibration and shock), structural mechanical and fatigue.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply specialist technical knowledge to complex systems and structural mechanisms providing advice to projects with the responsibility for the delivery of technical aspects of data evaluation activities.
  • Act as a technical interface with customers in the delivery of data evaluation tasks or technical work packages, including data gathering trials and assessments, platform integration activities and structural modal assessment, ensuring delivery to the required quality, timescale and budget.
  • Carry out a full range of technical evaluations and investigations, including evaluation of technical options, preparation of reports with suggested recommendations to support the resolution of problems attributed to shock and vibration.
  • Develop test specifications and carry out activities related to vibration, shock and signal evaluation in line with all technical, safety and quality standards.
  • Plan, deliver and monitor assigned work packages, make engineering decisions within own sphere of responsibility and delegated authority to ensure requirements are delivered to plan.
  • Perform engineering capability improvements through methods and process development efforts.

What we’re looking for from you:

A strong technical background in environmental, mechanical or similar discipline with:

  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Excellent investigative instinct and decision-making attributes
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills
  • High motivations and adaptability
  • Experienced in analysing vehicle/missile operations in complex environments
  • Instrumentation and signal processing experience highly desired
  • Vibration, shock and thermal analysis experience preferred
