This is a full time, permanent position and in return,you will receive a competitive rate of £23,014 to £30,923 per annum DOE.

About the role:
As the Estates Maintenance Technician, you will assist with the maintenance and security of the buildings on the College’s sites.
Responsibilities as our Estates Maintenance Technician will include:
- Ensuring the security of Premises and Contents and promoting security awareness on the establishment, particularly during College closure periods
- Carrying out painting and decorating duties on campus
- Operating the heating and hot water plant (where applicable)
- Carrying out non-specialist and routine maintenance for heating boilers, water pumps, sump pumps etc
- Visually inspecting electrical fittings regularly and log/record any defects
- Reading, recording and reporting all meter readings as recommended
- Dealing with, or arranging to be dealt with, all burst pipes, leaks, flooding, fires, blockages, breakages, as appropriate
- Liaising, as necessary, with emergency services including calling in emergency services if required
- Carrying out work under some or all of the following headings (training will be given where required)
- general repairs (dor handles, fire door closures, etc)
- jinery (furniture repairs, desks, chairs and other minor joinery work)
- plumbing (tap washers, ball valves)
- minr painting
- Prterage
- Minibus checks
- PAT testing
- Keeping the Estates helpdesk up to date
As our Estates Maintenance Technician, you’llideally have:
- Good general standard of education
- Have some working experience of general maintenance and repair work (especially painting and decorating, carpentry, plumbing and basic electrical work)
- Good working knowledge of small hand tools
- Good understanding of Health & Safety
- Have a clean driving licence
- DBS will be required
- Ability to work on an alternating shift pattern
- Ability to work at other locations across the College sites when required
