Working for an established and growing business that specialises in providing the whole spectrum of M&E and facilities management services across the UK.

The business ensures that your project is in safe hands during the end-to-end delivery process by providing its specialised engineering team and reliable building services engineers.

As the Estimating and Commercial Manager, you will take ownership of the business's full range of commercial activities, from estimating through to final account agreements.

You will be required to support the business's project delivery teams with site surveys, estimation, technical queries, commercial reviews of terms and conditions, and procurement. You will also lead on estimating all major projects that come into the business.

The role will report directly to the Head of Operations, and will also have a direct interface with the Board of Directors.

This opportunity will be based in the Stoke on Trent office and will involve travel across the Midlands and North West of the UK visiting various sites.

The role of Estimating & Commercial Manager will include:

  • Documenting, developing, and improving Commercial Policies and Procedures.
  • Producing fully costed, detailed, and accurate estimates in response to surveys, requests for quotations, or tenders.
  • Collaborating with Project Managers, Engineers, and other team members to support them to ensure accurate and complete estimates/prices are submitted.
  • Supporting business development activities, including assisting with Framework and Bid submission packs. This is a key growth area, and you would be expected to take full commercial ownership of all framework agreements held by the business.
  • Ensure tenders are presented consistently, with due consideration given to risk and defined scope.
  • Be responsible for examining all tender documentation and advising on bid prospects and potential win strategies.

What we need from you?

  • Possess excellent experience in a similar surveying/estimating management role.
  • Previous experience in mechanical engineering, electrical installation, or facilities management.
  • M&E/Building Services-related qualification.
  • Commercial acumen with the ambition to be part of a growing company.
  • Ability to secure new business opportunities.
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to support major bid processes.
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to represent the company at client meetings.

Salary - up to £60k + Car Allowance + Business Mileage
