We have a fantastic opportunity for an Estimator to join our team within Vistry Northern Home Counties, at our office in Milton Keynes. As our Estimator, you will be involved in producing land appraisals and will require experience in pricing a range of housing developments varying in complexity. The candidate will be capable of working on their own initiative and closely with the land team and will be responsible for maintaining a competitive cost database.

- Provide priced appraisals cost plans to support land bid submissions with updates generally set at pre planning and start on site stages.
- Development of a measurement and pricing strategy using agreed templates.
- Attendance at opportunity launch, mid-tender, settlement, and handover meetings with land DEPT.
- Attending site visits with pre-construction team members.
- Preparation of proposed supply chain enquiry schedules in conjunction with the buying team as required.
- Pre-enquiry communication with key supply chain partners as required.
- Internal take off and measurement utilising Bluebeam software or other software as may be introduced to complete tasks.
- Maintain working relationships with our local and national supply chains with meetings as necessary to support the Estimating process.
- Completion of design, specification, and value engineering reviews.
- Undertaking reviews of Build cost inflation considerations for existing sites using BCIS indices.
- Preparing job pricing comparisons and resources for settlement meetings.
- Completion of project CSA as required.
- Provide input into post tender clarifications and negotiations.
- Attendance at Client / Stakeholder meetings as required.
- Preparing documentation for handover meetings to production and commercial teams.
- Review site constraints, risks, and opportunities in conjunction with the land team along with cost mitigation strategies.
- Review Planning / S106 requirements assessing any financial implications.
- Updating Section 106 cost to complete with indexation recognition as part of CVR process.
- Develop a strategy with the team and manage the measure and financial element of the development.
- Supporting value engineering or negotiating exercises where required.
- Financial modelling of cost and revenue streams to determine funding requirements of each development.
- Maintaining library of build costs for the pricing templates notably covering core costs for housing costs but of course all other items.
