Job Description :

Our client is looking for an experienced Projects and BD Director to take their business operations to the next level. The Projects Director is a key leadership role for the group of an international private investments firm, responsible for overseeing and synchronising the planning and execution of multiple medium- to large-scale projects in the hospitality and real estate sectors' development, as well as clean energy, venture capital and other projects within the Group.

The role also requires the individual to identify and act on new business opportunities. This is essential to the role, as it is an entrepreneurial, dynamic and business-generating role that not only oversees a significant portfolio of projects but also creates more investment opportunities for the Group.

Working closely with regional project directors, cross-functional teams, and top management, this role ensures compliance with corporate standards, optimal resource allocation, and improved operational efficiency across the entire project portfolio. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of project management methodologies, outstanding communication and coordination skills, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines. A forward-thinking approach and expertise in leveraging cutting-edge IT platforms are essential for process optimisation and innovation. The entrepreneurial mindset is a MUST.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, analyse and bring new opportunities based on approved investment criteria
  • Allocate the execution of the approved business cases to multiple teams
  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of 4-6 current projects, ensuring alignment with group-wide strategic objectives
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive project portfolio roadmap, ensuring key milestones and deliverables are met
  • Establish standardised processes and templates for project planning, reporting, and risk management across all projects
  • Coordinate between local project directors and on-site teams to ensure consistency in design standards, quality, and adherence to brand guidelines
  • Allocate and plan resources by working closely with HR, finance, procurement, and other departments to allocate resources across projects efficiently
  • Monitor, manage and execute budgets, timelines, and workload, delivering regular progress reports and identifying potential bottlenecks
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all project-related communications, engaging with senior management, shareholders, partners, and external contractors
  • Organise meetings, working sessions, and progress reviews to align expectations and ensure the smooth flow of critical information
  • Identify portfolio-wide risks, interdependencies, and conflicts, implementing proactive mitigation strategies to maintain project momentum
  • Lead the issue resolution process, escalating when necessary, and offering data-driven, best-practice solutions
  • Define KPIs, success criteria, and reporting frameworks to assess project performance across the portfolio
  • Prepare reports and dashboards for senior management, offering clear and actionable insights on project status, risks, and opportunities
  • Promote the use of advanced project management technologies (e.g., Microsoft Project, BIM, AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools) to enhance efficiency and data-driven decision-making
  • Identify and integrate best practices, lessons learned, and innovations, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
  • Mentor and guide local project teams, encouraging collaboration and high performance across diverse regions
  • Provide training on project management methodologies, software tools, and industry standards

Key Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field
  • A Master’s degree or PMP (or equivalent certification) is a strong advantage
  • 10-15 years of experience in project management, with at least 5 years leading or coordinating multiple large-scale projects simultaneously
  • Experience in luxury resorts, hospitality, or large-scale real estate development is a plus
  • Proven success in managing complex project portfolios (e.g., developments over 70,000 sq. meters or hotels with 300+ rooms)
  • Strong proficiency in project management and collaboration tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Google Workspace)
  • Deep knowledge of BIM, AutoCAD, or Revit is highly beneficial for coordinating technical teams
  • Advanced expertise in cloud-based productivity platforms and MS Office (Excel with pivot tables, VLOOKUP, PowerPoint, Word), with an ability to visualise data effectively
  • Fluent in English (spoken & written); additional EU languages are a plus

  • Financial acumen is a must

Working Conditions

  • This is a remote, ideally EU-based position with frequent travel to project sites for inspections, progress, monitoring, and stakeholder meetings. On some occasions, you may be required to stay at the project site for some time
  • Due to frequent international travel, the candidate should have at least an active travel EU visa or, ideally, a European passport
  • High-intensity role with strict deadlines, requiring flexibility and prioritisation skills
  • Full-time position with a 6-month probation period
